The Heldenbariton Juha Uusitalo has been making waves recently outside his native Finland. Last year he did a creditable job with the Wotan of Das Rheingold and Die Walküre in a joint production by the Teatro Comunale of Florence and the Palau de les Arts of Valencia. This year sees his debut at the Met as Jokanaan in Salome and he returns there the following season as the Dutchman.
