Review of Lohengrin, directed Girard, conducted Nézet-Séguin, New York Met, 2023.
July 2023, Volume 17, Number 2, 68–70.
François Girard’s new production of Lohengrin locates the Grail Knight’s distant homeland in a futuristic realm – one already delineated in Girard’s Met production of Parsifal (2013). For those already familiar with Girard’s Parsifal, Lohengrin’s arrival wearing a crisp white dress shirt and black trousers visually unites the Grail Knights in both productions.
