La Voce Wagneriana: Associazione Richard Wagner di Avellino (The Wagnerian Voice: Richard Wagner Association of Avellino) was founded in Italy in 2021 with the aim of promoting access to the documentary sources on Richard Wagner in Italy. To achieve this goal, the association has created, among various other projects, the Biblioteca Wagneriana Digitale, the Wagnerian Digital Library. Our approach is very simple: using the chronology of Wagner’s life and Italian performances of his works, we seek corresponding references in documents of the time – newspaper articles, letters, books, essays, photos, illustrations and so on. Currently, the archive contains over 1500 digitised documents.
