The editor of The Wagner Journal, Barry Millington, has long been familiar with Warner’s Covent Garden production, whereas the associate editor, Tash Siddiqui, saw it in 2018 for the first time, so we thought this final revival would an opportunity to reflect jointly on the performances, and perhaps also highlight the role of the journal as a platform for informed debate on Wagner staging, as The Wagner Journal enters its teens in its thirteenth year of operation.
